Kilpatrick bring you the perfect Ardell lash, hot from Mario’s Masterclass
Is there a bigger deal than Mario Dedivanovic? Probably. But in the beauty world? Absolutely not.
Kilpatrick had the exclusive look into the immediately sold out, high in demand, Mario Masterclass.
The makeup artist behind Kim Kardashian’s famous glow showed us, in his four hour masterclass, how to perfect the “money” makeup look with a pristine lash.
His 2018 London Masterclass last Saturday had a mile-long queue starting from 7am; overflowing with beauty enthusiasts prepped & ready to see their idol in action.
Ardell Beauty were proud sponsors of the event and sent me; social media manager at Kilpatrick; along to grab all of the exclusive content on all things lash (and to report back on exactly how to get the cheekbones of Kimmy K).
The 700 guests erupted as Mario took to the stage, his presence causing a deafening stir as a lot of people were now face to face with the personality who first inspired them to pursue their careers in makeup.
With an audience more engaged than Harry and Meghan; Mario guided us through every step there is in creating a red-carpet makeup look.
When asked by a random participant (spoiler: it was me) what his favourite lash brand was, he didn’t hesitate for a second. Obviously Ardell. He used a mixture of Demi Wispies and Individuals to be precise. Being the number one lash brand in the world for make up artists this came as no surprise!
Mario explained, “I use Ardell Demi Wispies on nearly every client, as for some reason, they just work on all different eye shapes and I love them.”
By trimming the lashes, we learnt the importance of building definition in the centre of the eye. He then went on to demonstrate how he uses Ardell Individual Lashes to create a dramatic effect; placing the main lash strip in the middle of the eye, then strategically positioning shorter ones on the inner corners and longer flared ones on the outer corners for that perfect feline fan.
“Isn’t it weird that my job is to stick hairs to people’s eyeballs…?” he chuckled as he applied them. I mean, yeah, that is one way to describe false lashes, Mario. We’ll give you that one.
